About the Authors

Nancy Pridgen

Nancy is Director of CDP Product Development and Client Relations for the Leadership Development Institute at Eckerd College and has responsibilities in program development, group facilitation, organizational consulting, and one-on-one coaching and feedback. As an LDI staff member since 1988, Nancy also served as Director of Custom Programs and Coordinator of Training and Development. She has designed and facilitated numerous executive management programs and has extensive experience with a variety of assessment instruments and feedback tools.

Prior to LDI, Nancy worked at the General Counsel’s office at the University of South Florida and practiced commercial litigation at NationsBank. She is a member of the Florida Bar. She holds a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Florida. Nancy has special interests in conflict management, team leadership, organizational effectiveness, and executive coaching.


Shawnda Newkirk

Shawnda is the Assistant Director of Client Relations for the Leadership Development Institute at Eckerd Collage and is responsible for all marketing and advertising efforts within the department. Shawnda also works with the Program for Experienced Learners at Eckerd College on various marketing and advertising projects.

Prior to LDI, Shawnda worked in the field of Marketing for various companies throughout the Tampa Bay area. She holds a B.S. in Business Marketing from Florida State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Shawnda has special interest in brand management and online marketing.
